I think it’s fair to bring up the fact that the volunteer float is for volunteers, and that the younger people need to be more respectful to the elders, in the fact that the elders should be the first ones to ride on the actual float… instead of having to walk… and in the fact that this year especially… but also last year…. they left my trailer trashed with wrappers and empty water bottles etc. ….and not a single one said thank you or offered to help clean up. I just think that it’s disrespectful to the whole parade board and senior volunteers.
Now from a parade stand point… on my corner (7th & Madison) I think we still have some major issues that need ironed out. We need to make a designated lane (the right hand lane of the one way) that is the only lane and direction to which they can come in at.

When people come from across the way …(On North side of 7th & Madison, on 7th, that are Southbound crossing thru Madison to get to barricaded entrance) …they have to wait for us to verify that they are in the right spot… and often times get stuck in the middle of traffic…. and then in the case of them not being allowed entry …..it’s dangerous & near impossible for them to turn around due to the heavy traffic. I have some ideas but I would be better to explain in person rather than text lol.

Secondly the new volunteers need to understand that the veterans know how it’s done and they should not be arguing with us and thinking that they can override our orders. This is exactly why there were unauthorized vehicles in the Horace man parking lot.
