Entry Staging Packet – INSTRUCTIONS

 

  1. Absolutely NO PERSONAL OR AUXILLARY VEHICLES will be allowed in the Staging    This includes the Horace Mann main parking lot or streets where staging takes place.

  2. Find your staging number on the following page:

  3. Find your staging location by using the maps following the instructions and rules.

  4. All entries assigned to Staging Areas A, C and G
    must enter at:   6th & Capital Streets    .

  5. All entries assigned to Staging Areas B and E
    must enter at:   9th & Jefferson Streets.

  6. All entries assigned to Staging Areas D and F
    must enter at:   7th & Madison Streets.

  7. Entry to all Staging Areas may need to be validated. Please print this packet and use it as identification upon arrival.

  8. NO PERSONAL VEHICLES area allowed in the upper Horace Mann lot (entrance off 9th Street). This parking is reserved for Horace Mann employees only.  Identification will be requested.

  9. Entries either after entering the staging area or prior to entering must check in with the registration area – this will be a vehicle that will have Green Shamrock Balloons to be able to easily locate the registration area and will be located in the Horace Mann parking lot.

  10. Parade line up numbers is required to be placed on the left hand side of the leading vehicle for the entry unit so that our MCs at the reviewing stand can easily recognize the entry to read the narrative provided at registration.

  11. ALL ENTRIES must have one designee check in at registration located in the lower Horace Mann parking lot. You will receive a number to display on the front left of the leading vehicle of your parade entry (generally, it can be displayed on the dash in the front window on the driver’s side of the vehicle).

  12. Please ensure that all of your participants know your staging location. It is difficult to address questions from all of the participants in a parade entry when the committee is attempting to check in entries and stage for the parade in a short window of time.

  13. The Staging Area opens at 9:00 AM and closes at 11:15 AM. Late arrivals may forfeit their position and may be asked to abandon the parade.  If you have small children, please be aware that you may be waiting for quite some time for your entry to be admitted to the parade route.  Keep this in mind and dress appropriately.

  14. Please do not block the center lane of streets, parking lot entrances or aisles in the Horace Mann parking lot.
